Se analizaron cinco islas del Parque Nacional "Laguna de los Cisnes". Tierra del Fuego, Chile, durante los meses de febrero, abril y noviembre de 1973. Fueron examinadas en cuanto al número y diversidad de las especies avíales nidantes y a la vegetación.
Se analizaron además, las relaciones de las aves, entre si, con las islas, la vegetación y la laguna propiamente tal. Estas islas proporcionan hábitats apropiados para la nidificación en combinación con aislamiento físico de los predatores terrestres.
During three opportunities in 1973 (February, April, and November), an analysis of five islands was made in the National Park, "Laguna de los Cisnes", in Tierra del Fuego, Chile. The islands were examined in respect to the number and diversity of species of the nesting birds found there, the vegetation, and relationships between the species of birds, the island and their vegetation, and the lake itself. The islands provide an área of appropiate nesting habitat combined with physical isolation from terrestrial predators.
