Some preliminary antecedents on the analysis of soil-surface entomofauna collected through a line transect of Barber traps in Surgidero Romanche (Isla Bayly) are presented. Coastal mixed forest, transicional scrub and moorland communities in Isla Bayly are generally formed by a short number of soil-surface species. A few are common to all the communities and give them a certain degree of similarity, while the exclusive species, scarcely represented do not typify them. The bog community, richer in species stands out, and these exert an influence on the adjacent communities. The diverse analysis criterions used shows that the communities have a low overlap, a higth uniformity and a moderate diversity wich suggest a relative complex organization that needs further studies.
