One specimen of Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) captured at Puerto Natales (51° 44' S; 72° 30' W) and observations of small flocks of Yellow-Winged Black-Bird (Agelaius thilius)in the "Torres del Paine" National Park (51° 00' S; 73° 00' W approximately) and Cerro Castillo farm (51° 16' S; 70° 22' W) are reported. All sites were located at Ultima Esperanza, Magallanes, Chile. Although the presence of Cattle Egret in the chilean Patagonia is considered as ocassional, this new record increases in 28 degrees of latitude its previously known range in Chile or in 20 degrees when considering Argentina as the migration route. According to geographical considerations since up to the present there is not captures, it is infered that the Yellow-Winged Black-Bird could belong to the subspecies petersii.
