dc.description.abstractLa zona marítimo-terrestre situada en la parte central de la Tierra del Fuego, entre el sector sur de la bahía Inútil y el comienzo del fiordo del Almirantazgo, conformó durante el período histórico anterior a la colonización uno de los territorios fronterizos de contacto y relación entre los aborígenes Kawéskar, cazadores marinos, y los Sélknam, cazadores terrestres. En este artículo, sobre la base de diferentes evidencias culturales, históricas y antropológicas, se postula la hipótesis de vigencia histórica de un nuevo caso de mestizaje interétnico par la Región Magallánica: los Sélkkar, surgido como consecuencia del correspondiente prolongado trato entre ambos grupos.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe maritime-terrestrial zone which is located in the central region of Tierra del Fuego (between the southern region of Bahia Inutil and the initial section of the Almirantazgo Fjord) was one of the border areas of contact among the Kaweskar (sea hunters) and Selknam (land hunters) before colonization in this area. This article, which is based on a variety of cultural, historical and anthropological data, claims the existence of a new interethnic cross breeding in the Magellan Region: The Selkkar, who came about as a result of the extensive contact between the two afore mentioned ethnic groups.es_ES
