Se presentan la distribución y niveles de toxicidad del Veneno Paralítico de los Mariscos en Magallanes, en el período comprendido entre noviembre de 1972 y noviembre de 1973. La mayor toxicidad (96.000 Unidades Ratón), se registró en Bahía Bell el 11 de noviembre de 1972. Las especies que presentaron las toxicidades más altas fueron los mitílidos Aulacomya ater y Mytilus chilensis. Estos antecedentes toxicológicos son relacionados con los resultados planctónicos e hidrográficos que caracterizaron esta aparición de Veneno Paralitico de los Mariscos.
The distribution and toxicological levels of the Paralytic Shellfish Poison in the Magellan región between November, 1972 and November, 1973 are presented. The highest toxicity valué (96,000 Mousc Units) was registered at Bahia Bell on November llth, 1972.
The species that showed the highest valúes of Paralytic Shellfish Poison were the mitilids Aulacomya ater and Mytilus chilensis.
These toxicological data are related with some planktological and hydrographical results which characterized this outbreak of Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning.
