Abstract:
An archaeological prospection journey to the archipelagoes between Navarino Island and the Island of Diego Ramírez is described. A sub-superficial archaeological shell layer was found at Caleta Martial. Herschel Island (55° 50' Lat. S, 67° 17' Long. W), belonging to the L'Hermite or Cape Horn group. This is the southernmost archaelogical site known up-to-date and evidences the degree of southern penetration of the canoe Indias of the austral american islands.
