dc.description.abstractEn un ensayo breve se ofrece una síntesis de la trayectoria histórica del territorio de Magallanes durante el siglo XX, considerando la evolución de su sociedad y de su economía. La primera se conformó originalmente con el aporte inmigratorio mayoritario de diversos grupos europeos, pero devino finalmente completamente chilena por la fusión interétnica, desarrollando en el tiempo una cultura caracterizadora de raíz vernácula. La segunda pasó desde la monoproducción ovina, que sirvió de soporte estructural durante medio siglo, hasta la poliproducción del fin de la centuria, situación estimada como la más deseable y conveniente para la región. Magallanes ha mostrado en el transcurso del siglo un adelanto creciente y favorable, aunque no sin altibajos, que le ha permitido a sus habitantes alcanzar y disfrutar de un grado notable de bienestar, que lo distingue frente a otras regiones chilenas.es_ES
dc.description.abstractIn a brief essay a synthesis of the historical trajectory of Magellan's territory during the XX century is provided, considering its social and economic evolution. The first was mainly the end product of the migration of a majority of several European groups, but become at the end Chilean by interethnic fusion, developing a particular vernacular culture. The second one passed from an ovine monoproduction, that served as the structural support during half a century, to a multiproduction at the end of the century, the last esteemed as the most convenient for the region. Magellan's region has shown in the course of the century an increasingly and growing improvement, nevertheless not whithout ups and downs, that has permitted the inhabitants to reach and enjoy a high degree of welfare. that distinguishes it from other regions of the chilean country.es_ES
